We are putting our knowledge of everything we have learned so far in this course to the test. We are watching Avatar, the movie, and then writing an analytical essay. This project requires you to take past knowledge and apply it to a contemporary movie. As we watch the movie, you are responsible for drawing out examples of concepts like: Eurocentrism, cultural contact, assimilation, marginalization, "white man's burden". This project will also help you develop your analytical writing skills!
