Today we wrapped up all but two of our Cultural Contact presentations. After looking at the various case studies of cultural contact, one can see that there were positives and negatives that came with the interaction of two cultures. We must remember though that underlying cultural contact during historical globalization was a Eurocentric perspective and this is a critical point.
We then looked at the difference between World View and Perspective where the first refers to the individual and the latter refers to the collective. We discussed how our beliefs and values are the framework for how we view the world around us and also of how these values and beliefs can change over time.
