After our discussion on the development of Contemporary Globalization, we took a look at a couple of the organizations that came out of the Bretton Wood's Conference - the World Bank and the IMF. These two organizations are controversial. Some people believe that they are beneficial and that they effectively carry out the goals that they intend to while others believe that they are "imperialistic" in their policies.
We read through both sides of this argument and then had a great debate on Wednesday. In class today, we discussed the election (TODAY!) and then began writing our SUMMATIVE responses to this debate - Do the World Bank and IMF help or hinder in our society today?
This summative assignment will be due on Thursday.
Tomorrow we will be moving onto the World Trade Organization.
