Active Citizenship

Protesting and lobbying are two techniques at your disposal to have your voices heard about issues that are important to you.  We looked at a few different protest signs, then, using your own pro's and con's chart about NAFTA, I asked you to take a side on the debate:

Does NAFTA help to create prosperity for all?

You were then asked to create a protest/lobby sign (with criteria) to help demonstrate your position.

CRITERIA FOR YOUR PROTEST/LOBBY SIGNS:

1. A clearly established position on the issue (slogan)
2. Three supporting facts - WHY are you right?

Of course, in reality, there is no censorship on your signs.  Alas, in this class there is.  I ask that your signs, while they should clearly present your point, they must also remain respectful.  In addition, in reality, you wouldn't have criteria... again, in the circumstance, as you learn, you do!
