This is from our mini-debate.  It should help with your opinionated people projects.

IS THE WTO A GOOD THING OR A BAD THING IN OUR SOCIETY TODAY??

WTO needs to have integrity

WTO creates rules that uphold trade

Sometimes you have to look past what has happened in the past to better our future

You can’t choose morals over money every time or world trade would be eliminated

There is a difference between completely cutting people off because of your own morals and completely cutting everyone off – in the AIDS drug case they should not have cut everyone off. That was breaking the law

I’m sure the WTO as people would agree with you, but they can’t be more lenient to some rather than others or there would be more issues.

The WTO, if they were to use their morals, they would have issues with getting profit from trading.  AIDS – they can’t go against what they have put down in their rules (mandate).

They don’t care about the environment, health, animals, education as long as the trade continues to flow – they don’t care about the world. 

The WTO can’t always put morals over economic, but when have they EVER done that?  Free trade trumps all – it will ALWAYS trump morals.  You can’t say it can’t always it ALWAYS does.

We are not the UN – our main goal is world trade and whatever extent it comes to that is our main goal.

The whole point of the WTO is economic globalization which is making the world more interdependent – the world is coming together as one.  Explain to me how that is not better than being an independent country.

Does the WTO support the people in the DRC for coltan?  Do they care about the people? No, they care about the big countries.
