Over the last two days we have been working on presentations. On Monday, you were given an atlas - an actual paper copy of an atlas - and asked to analyze the resources in Africa. Then, you were asked to place yourselves in the shoes of a representative at the Berlin Conference in Germany in 1884. What area would you want to take for your own and why?
Once you had selected your area, we started working on presentations of the country that you chose. You have a series of questions to answer on the legacies of historical globalization and then you will be presenting that information to the class in a presentation. The presentations will take place on Thursday and you will have time on Wednesday to rehearse before you get up infront of your peers. What we hope to see come out of these presentations is a common theme or similar story. Also, we will be looking at both the postives and the negatives that come with historical globalization. This time frame will also prepare us to jump into the next competency, which is exploring contemporary globalization.
