Catching Up!

Wow!  June as always seems to fly by and there is a lot going on!

This week I have been meeting with the Social Activism groups during flex to touch base on projects.  On Wednesday, June 13th we will be Skyping once again with Kambale Musavuli.  During that session, each group will do a two minute presentation describing 1)Project Goals, 2) Action Plan, 3) Successes, and 4) Plans for Continuation.  At that point, we will present Kambale with our final donation cheque.  Right now we have slightly over $2000 (but all groups are doing a final push!).

This Social Activism project is marked based on a "Lessons Learned" Reflection.  This reflection is due on Monday, June 18th.

We have started our last push to the finish of the course.  We are talking about Quality of Life and the impact that globalization has on certain groups.  Today we looked specificially at the impacts on women.  We will discuss microlending and the Gremeen bank tomorrow.  You will also have a bit of time to work on your two minute Social Activism presentations.

As a side note, a special congrats to all of those students who were recognized at our Colour Night Awards last night!  I think all of you have pretty incredible talents and are very unique so it is great to see so many of you recognized.
